Elementary School Administrative Assistant / Cafeteria Support (New position)
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Administrative Assistant with a medical background to join our elementary school team. This dual-role position combines essential administrative duties with cafeteria support during lunch periods, creating a unique opportunity to engage with students and staff throughout the school day while also supporting student health and wellness needs.
**This position will begin for the 2025-2026 school year**
Primary Responsibilities
Administrative Duties:
*Greet and assist visitors, parents, and students at the main office
*Answer and direct phone calls, manage school email communications
*Maintain student records and attendance data
*Process forms and paperwork for enrollment, permissions, and school activities
*Coordinate school calendar events and assist with scheduling
*Order and maintain office supplies
*Provide administrative support to principal and teaching staff
*Assist with coordinating substitute teachers as needed
Health & Medical Support:
*Maintain student health records and medication logs
*Administer basic first aid for minor injuries and illnesses
*Assist school nurse with student health screenings when needed
*Support students with health conditions according to medical plans
*Contact parents regarding student health concerns
*Maintain confidentiality of sensitive medical information
Cafeteria Support:
*Assist in serving lunch to students during designated lunch periods
*Help maintain cafeteria cleanliness and organization
*Monitor students during lunch, supporting positive behavior
*Assist younger students with lunch routines as needed
*Help food service staff with meal distribution
Qualifications
*High school diploma required; associate's/bachelor’s degree preferred
*Medical background (CNA, EMT, Medical Assistant, LPN, or equivalent)
*Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
*Excellent communication skills with adults and children
*Proficiency with Google Workspace
*Current First Aid and CPR certification
Hours
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM during regular school days
